Ingredients

L-Theanine

L-theanine is a natural compound found in green tea leaves. It is known for its calming and relaxing effects and has been studied for its potential role in improving sleep quality and alleviating symptoms of insomnia.

Research on L-theanine and insomnia indicates that it may have a positive impact on sleep parameters. Studies have shown that L-theanine can reduce sleep latency, which is the time it takes to fall asleep, and increase overall sleep quality. It may also help extend the duration of deep sleep and enhance feelings of relaxation before bedtime.

L-theanine has been found to reduce anxiety and stress, which are often associated with insomnia. By promoting a sense of calmness and relaxation, it may help individuals with insomnia achieve a more restful sleep.

Melatonin

Melatonin is a hormone produced naturally by the pineal gland in the brain. It plays a crucial role in regulating the sleep-wake cycle, also known as the circadian rhythm. Melatonin levels typically rise in the evening, signaling to the body that it is time to sleep, and decrease in the morning, promoting wakefulness.

Numerous studies have investigated the effects of exogenous melatonin, which refers to melatonin taken as a supplement, in individuals with insomnia. Overall, research suggests that melatonin can help reduce the time it takes to fall asleep (sleep onset latency) and improve sleep efficiency.

Melatonin is especially effective in individuals with disrupted circadian rhythms, such as those experiencing jet lag or shift work disorder.

Magnesium Citrate

Magnesium citrate is a form of magnesium, an essential mineral involved in numerous physiological processes in the body. It has gained attention for its potential role in improving sleep quality and addressing symptoms of insomnia.

Magnesium is known to promote relaxation and help regulate neurotransmitters involved in sleep, such as GABA. Studies have shown that magnesium supplementation can improve sleep efficiency, reduce sleep onset latency, and enhance sleep duration.

Magnesium citrate may also alleviate symptoms associated with insomnia, such as restless legs syndrome and nocturnal leg cramps. These conditions are often linked to magnesium deficiency, and supplementation with magnesium citrate has been found to alleviate their symptoms, leading to improved sleep quality.

Best of all, magnesium has been shown to have anxiolytic (anti-anxiety) effects, helping to reduce anxiety and promote a sense of calmness.
